Barnhill Pre-School Playgroup was founded in 1968 with Barbara Evans as one of it's founder members, and Barbara has been involved in the running of the Playgroup ever since. Playgroup has occupied the same site for the last 40 years, although we did move into temporary accommodation last year as our premises went through major renovations. We moved back in September 2008 and are now thrilled to occupy these fantastic new facilities.
Playgroup is registered with both Brent Council and Ofsted. We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the high standard of education that we provide with the help of our excellent team and high quality premises and resources. The most recent Ofsted inspection was carried out in April 2009 and if you would like to read the report please ask a member of staff or go to the Ofsted website – www.ofsted.gov.uk and search under our name. We have 10 members of staff. We are extremely lucky at Barnhill because our staff turnover is very low so we can give the children continuity of care, and we speak a variety of languages, which helps with inclusion. The playgroup area consist of 4 child friendly toilets & sinks, a secure kitchen area, a bright & airy indoor area which has direct access into the safe & secure outdoor play area. The outdoor area has a large fixed canopy area that enables all weather access to the outdoors and protection from the different kinds of weather. We also have access to a large grass area and football pitch. Our children are aged from 2-5 years and attend the playgroup from 9.15am – 1pm. We are open term time only. |
